If I understand correctly, any exam from the MCSA or MCSE qualifies an individual as MCP, correct?

So that would mean that passing 70-290 = MCP

And 70-290 also counts as one of the required exams for MCSA, right?

Yes, you will be a MCP and have 1 test towards MCSA and MCSE.
