I don't really know. I would recommend knowing it. I would also recommend buying a cheap pair of crimpers, rj-45 connectors and some cat5e cable and building some cables yourself if you've never done it before.

This is a great suggestion. There's nothing like seeing it in your hands and doing it. After you terminate a few cables you will feel self satisfaction knowing that you did it and can do it on the job if need be.

Also, nothing like the feeling you get in your hands after a day of crimping - blister city!

I took 005 and having it memorized was quite beneficial. Good luck!

I wouldn't necessary worry about it because its really easy once you construct a cable. I've had to make these under pressure, but no worries.

I recommend you go on Ebay to purchase the cat5 cable,RJ45 connectors,wire crimpers, and tester. All this can be brought for under $40 dollars. How do I know this? because I'm living proof an I have actually done it
