Cisco Eithernet devices and switching

We all know that all the devices on a network connected by switch. So if a printer connected a network by Cisco switch then all the computers on this network can use this printer automatically without any configuration? Or any configuration is needed to use this printer. Not only printer asking all eithernet devices such as scanner , webcam etc.

The computers will still need whatever configuration is required by the printer/scanner/devices software and drivers
