Console port connected to master computer?

We all know that CICSO router has a console and AUX port. How the console port connected? Only to the admin computer or to the switch or both? If the console port connected to the switch then via a computer then all the computer on this network can operate the operation of the console? Want brief and underestimate comment. Thanks

Console port is not ethernet, it is a serial port. It needs to be connected directly to a pc, or to a terminal server. You can not simply connect it to a switch and manage it remotely over the network.
