People,
Why is it that if I transfer files from either of my pcs to the other, via either of my 2900 series switches, I only seem to get 10Mbps speed?
Both pcs have 100Mbps adaptors, they both say they are connected at 100. I have tried the switch ports on auto, as well as setting them to full duplex and 100.
I'm sure I've missed something simple...
Thanks

wildfire Member Posts: 654Are you sure the transfer isnt happening at around 10MB/s which is different to 10Mb/s
1B=8b's
This is why for example if you have a 1Mb xDSL connection files only download at around about 90-120KB/s (there are overheads in there too) The windows file download Quotes in Bytes all the connection speeds are quotes in Bits.
Personally I think its all a bit of a marketing ploy!Looking for CCIE lab study partnerts, in the UK or Online. -
