Help with A/V Tech?

Hey guys, I could use some help.
I got an interview with a county office of education for an Audio/Visual Technician. The reason I applied was because it looked like the position leaned towards Help Desk more than A/V despite the title, as the application only had a single sentence for A/V job duties and a beefy paragraph devoted to Help Desk job duties. I've been trying to find a Help Desk position somewhere so I leaped at it.
Now thing thing is I don't really have too much experience with audio equipment. I stated on my application that I've helped setup Audio/Visual equipment for campus events, meetings, and in classroom environments. This is true but I've only assisted our A/V guy move equipment and plug things in. I'm more knowledgeable about projectors, monitors, and TV's but I feel like I'm going to choke on the audio side.
Can anyone give me a crash course or a list of helpful rules to keep in mind? I asked the A/V guy at my work, but he admitted he doesn't have a hard job and knows a lot less than most would require in today's job search.
As with my previous post, I'll give a basic rundown of how the interview went. Hopefully it will help future users in similar situations.
Even if I don't get the job, at least I get the interview experience.
Wish me luck,
