In a virtual network: Successfull ping to the 8.8.8.8 but no dns resolving

I've deployed a Cisco router, a Fortigate (firewall of Fortinet) and a windows xp (all virtual machines)... I've well configured my network.. I can ping 8.8.8.8 from all devices... but when i try to ping Google it only succeeds from the cisco router... Neither windows or fortigate ping the google.com eventhough i've configured the dns server(8.8.8.icon_cool.gif and they are able to ping it. Btw, when i use the fortigate as router (shutdown cisco router), everythg goes ok... So it looks like the cisco router is blocking the dns packets or sthg like that... I couldn't find the solution to my problem in any link or forum... Would s.one plz help...

    Hi and welcome
Seems to me that you are on top of this problem, and dns packets aren't allowed (or more, even if ICMP works)
How about restoring Cisco router with no firewall configured on this.
Can you post the config file for the router?

A couple of things I'd check:

    port 53 allowed/disallowed
What device is actually managing your DNS
