The breadth of the certification course material is really deep - and it showed up on the exam.
SIP - anything and everything is fair game but esp. SDP, trunking, UAC/UAS, replication, federation, instant messaging, conferencing
VoIP - QoS, (S)RTP, MIME, Proxies, codecs, video
Mobility/Cloud - 4G, forking, IMS, VoLTE
ENUM/DNS - ViPR
Fax - protocols
Packet sniffing
Security - TLS, NAT, SBC, ALG, FW

fuz1on Member Posts: 961 ■■■■□□□□□□I bought access to the certification exam last year when they had a deal (along with SSVVP, WSQD, WSQI which I'm taking soon). You have to really know your stuff to finish in 80 minutes - some questions I answered right away from prior inter-networking knowledge (WireShark packet sniffing, VoIP, trunking, NAT, DNS, DHCP, 4G/LTE) gained from other certification exams.
Copy/Paste from their FAQ:
All tests are online, you do not need to go to a 'testing center'
All tests that you have a valid license for are accessible when you logon
They are all 'Timed' and when you start the test you will be shown instructions before the timer begins. These instructions will tell you how much time you are allowed.
For example, the SSCA test is timed at 80 minutes.
Passmark for all tests is 80%.
For example, the SSCA test requires that you get 44 questions correct out of the 55 that we present to you.
The SSCA and SSVVP test licenses allow 3 attempts. If you use all 3 and need another attempt then you can purchase 'test only' licenses from the website.
If you successfully pass the test you will be shown your score and then you can download your certificate and logo image by clicking on the 'History' tab on the website.timku.com(puter) | ProHacker.Co(nsultant) | ITaaS.Co(nstultant) | ThePenTester.net | @fuz1on

TCP/IP (IPv4/IPv6)
OSI
Switches/VLAN
Routing
Wi-Fi
Application layer services

fuz1on Member Posts: 961 ■■■■□□□□□□Passed WebRTC School Qualified Developer - WSQD™!
I thought it was the most difficult exam of the bunch.
Pre-req knowledge:
Programming ‘in general’; especially Java
JavaScript (node.js)
Basic HTML5/RWD programming
Overview of WebRTC architecture/integration
- What works with what and how it works
- Media Flows
W3C WebRTC API
- MediaStream (getUserMedia)
- PeerConnection (Signaling mechanism)
- DataChannel (Streaming)
Really in-depth programming schema/semantics (objects, constraints, methods, callbacks)
Pseudo-code (Procedural)
You must know Java, JavaScript and VoIP fundamentals
IETF Protocols
- MTI Codecstimku.com(puter) | ProHacker.Co(nsultant) | ITaaS.Co(nstultant) | ThePenTester.net | @fuz1on

powerfool Member Posts: 1,666 ■■■■■■■■□□Price doesn't seem bad if the material they provide is actually decent. $451.25 for the course and exam. I see this as being something that I would be far more interested in the knowledge than the certificate, so the material would need to be top notch. Any opinion on their material?2024 Renew: [ ] AZ-204 [ ] AZ-305 [ ] AZ-400 [ ] AZ-500 [ ] Vault Assoc.

fuz1on Member Posts: 961 ■■■■□□□□□□I can't comment on their material because I only bought exam access to each certification. I just googled/wiki'd all the exam topics/domains to study and many topics somewhat overlapped. The training is probably the best of its' kind since it's on The Cisco Learning Network and endorsed by Bicsi/TIA. I had to really get to know SIP, VoIP and WebRTC/JSEP (ie. you mostly can't google tangible answers since the questions are specific/vague at times) for these certifications so I increased my knowledge-base exponentially.timku.com(puter) | ProHacker.Co(nsultant) | ITaaS.Co(nstultant) | ThePenTester.net | @fuz1on

HowlingMad Registered Users Posts: 1 ■□□□□□□□□□The material is actually quite intense. You also get an introduction into SS7 and LTE (as in 4g).
I have not taken the exam yet, I intend to do that this Sat or Mon. The course is roughly 35 hours long just for the presentations. It actually took me 3 weeks to get through it all. The "Notes" are not that comprehensive, be prepared to download and read/print a lot of IETF material.
I'll let everyone know what it looks like afterwards. -
powerfool Member Posts: 1,666 ■■■■■■■■□□I was having trouble wrapping my head around some of the core infrastructure components of Lync/SfB when I was beginning my studies. I looked at some of the independent resources out there for this certification and it made everything click. I would like to take my time and sit through all of this material, but time is not on my side these days.2024 Renew: [ ] AZ-204 [ ] AZ-305 [ ] AZ-400 [ ] AZ-500 [ ] Vault Assoc.

I have completed The SIP School, where can I find some test questions before I actually appear for the SSCA exam?

joshuamurphy75 Member Posts: 162 ■■■□□□□□□□congrats on passing the exam. I'm really glad you brought this up. I haven't heard of the SSCA before, but it looks like it would be really useful knowledge.
