This is the moment i never though would come, writing here and saying I PASSED!!!

Background:

started my career as infosec specialist last 2008, moved from central account admins to Access management and now an IT risk Manger. Passed GSEC 2010 but has expired and never renewed.

It's been a long journey, took me a year (on off because i just changed just last year as risk manager and a lot to learn). I failed the first try last August, I thought i am prepared enough with Shon Harris, and 11th hour book and reading few pages of ISC2 4th edition (not recommended for newbies, words quite high level for me at least) but no...You really need to do a lot of practice test, and added Eric conrad's CISSP guide, CISSP Sybex Book 7th edition and Transcender in my second attempt. I believe the transcender really helped me and the practice test from Sybex. I'll summarize the materials, though i know most of you had posted some if it already.

1. Shon Harris - its a must that you start with this. It will be your foundation.
2. Eric Conrad's CISSP Guide (second edition)
3. Eric Conrad's 11th hour
4. Sybex CISSP 7th edition
5. Combined notes
6. Transcender - if you have budget get this!
7. Sybex online practice test

All the online materials i used.

Let me tell you, even though i used these materials, they are far from the actual questions. You really just need to understand the books and think like a manager. It only ask few of technical stuff that i memorized.

i probably over prepared the second attempt but its all worth it. My brain are still numb and i cant wait to get back to mountain biking :)

English is not my first language, but i made it. If i can do it, you can too!

Good luck to those who will take the test! just believe in yourself and pray!!!
