Point-to-multipoint split horizon question

Best practice says to disable split horizon on point-to-multipoint frame-relay connections. I understand that this helps routers learn routes from other routers on the NBMA link but then doesn't this cause routing loop issues?

It could. Another popular method is to create sub-interfaces to each branch site from the hub to effectively create point-to-point links on each.

Not with EIGRP because split horizon in that case is only to reduce the number of routing updates. Other protocol features will prevent loops.

Also worth thinking about Prefix Lists and VRF. Although unconventional, nothing stopping you using these.
