How does the exam scoring work?

Just out of curiosity, how does the system work? Someone here said he got 778 and the breakdown was:

Design and support 75%
Implementation and operation 75%
technology 54%

Is that 778 out of 1000, and if so, shouldn't at least one of those percentages be over 77.8%?

No, you get 300 points for just showing up for the test -- so the scale is 300 to 1000 points.

Same for the passing percentage -- take 300 points from your score and divide by 700 (and multiply by 100) to get your true percentage.

That 778 is really about 68%

Sweet, well that clears it all up. So if the pass mark is 850, this would equate to just under 79%? Suddenly I rate my chances of passing slightly higher! I'd still like to get 900+ mind.
