    I'll be going into a presales role in January with my new company and that is another reason as well! Plus, getting letter after your name is fun too :P

    Great thread! I do it strictly to pass online filters/HR/Government requirements, marketability and the biggest factor: ROI.

    I have SO many friends that have tons of certs, but end up having them expire because they never needed it for their particular job role. I believe in getting minimum number of certs that directly will help you with your career path.

    However, certain certs WILL change your career. I missed out on a guaranteed 140k job opportunity earlier this week simply because I did not have a CISSP. This is through a connection. Thus this will never happen to me again... thats why I am going to start studying for my CISSP next week. CISSP is everything in the DC area.
