Windows Vista
What I want to know is...Is Vista going to be a part of the NT family, like 2000 and XP, or is it going to be something totally new? I heard from someone that it's going to be Unix-based. If anyone knows, please help me to clear this up.
The biggest risk in life is not taking one.

I assume that Windows Vista is built on Windows 2000 platform. I found this here which as far as I know only applies for the Vista Enterprise version.
"Windows Vista Enterprise includes Subsystem for UNIX-based Applications (SUA), which enables you to run UNIX applications unchanged on a Windows Vista Enterprise-based PC. Whereas today a UNIX database administrator or system administrator needs to have a UNIX workstation in addition to a Windows-based PC, Windows Vista Enterprise enables you to consolidate both functions into a single Windows Vista-based PC."
Hope this helps!
