Sec+ after Net+ feels like studying for the same exam

I recently began studying for Sec+. I took Net+ a few years ago and I feel like the Sec+ study materials are pretty much just Net+ study materials with a different cover. I expected there to be overlap but it feels like 80% of the material is the same. It makes me a bit angry that they split this into 2 separate tests. I'm thinking about throwing in the towel and going for CEH just to learn something new. Am I misremembering or are they really that similar?

There's certainly some overlap there, I know with N+ Exam you delve into attack types wireless etc. However I would say both exams are a lot different there are many aspects S+ covers that Network+ doesn't.

That being said it comes all down to your experience and knowledge of security.

You may consider skipping Security+ and working on SSCP or CASP or both.
