PMBOK - is it worth it?

I have a book for it but I'm not sure about going for it? I've looked around and still not sure if I should. Thought I would ask people whom have taken it and might now its worth.

My goal is to be the Principal Security Engineer at FireEye in 10 years.

You have to have significant experience and training to even attempt the PMP exam. Refer to the website for requirements.

I think you can search online. And get more knowledge.

If you don't have the credentials to obtain the PMP do the CAPM. I know the CAPM doesn't carry the weight of the PMP, but it's still one of the better PM certs out there for waterfall.
