Has anyone used the site passthevcp.com? I was thinking of signing up. I took the Stanly class but was looking for some extra prep before taking my 5.5 test.

I don't personally think people need to buy anything - work through the blueprint objectives, run a lab to get more hands-on, and use the product documentation as the ultimate reference.
I wrote this page on my blog some time ago, so it's related more to the VCP510 exam rather than the current VCP550 exam that you will take, but a lot of the principles and links remain valid: VMware Training and Certification: Studying for the VCP5 examVCP2 / VCP3 / VCP4 / VCP5 / VCAP4-DCA / VCI / vExpert 2010-2012

They also have included feedback about the content of their practice questions and links to the supporting VMware publications and KB Articles (which kind of meets your "product documentation as the ultimate reference" suggestion). Looks to me that they are truly interested in testers knowing the information and not just passing with no supporting knowledge.

Lexluethar Member Posts: 516As long as they are not brain **** and truly are custom questions you should be fine (similar to what transender and a few others do).
I do agree with Scott though, other than the required course for the exam I don't think you need to spend a lot on passing the test. Mastering book by Scott Lowe is always a great purchase then just practice. I took the the exam blueprint and typed out every detail i could find on each topic. Yes it was REALLY long, like 89 pages but i went into super detail on every topic, probably vcap specific. -

Do you have any connection to them? Seems like an odd set of comments from someone's first post on these forums...VCP2 / VCP3 / VCP4 / VCP5 / VCAP4-DCA / VCI / vExpert 2010-2012

TechFanGirl Registered Users Posts: 2 ■□□□□□□□□□So, if I say no I have no connections, you think me odd. If I say yes, I have connections, you think I am attempting to profit in some way by posting (albeit the first time) on this exam blog. Both of which would be inaccurate. So suffice it to say that I (TechFanGirl...odd as I may be), speaking for myself, feel that there is a great responsibility in being a VCP and feel very strongly that those pursuing the certification should actually KNOW what the designation says that they do.

Just look for a good source of test questions to practice with before finally going through with it. I also passed the Stanley course back in March.
