What PodCasts do you listen to?
I was just wondering what PodCasts you all listen to that gives you a new perspective at your field.
I myself enjoy PacketPushers and am starting to look at others.

kohr-ah Member Posts: 1,277Did a search first. Per that link even there has been lots of new podcasts over the past 5 years.
All the searches seemed to yield security, cissp, etc in that side.
I'm a network guy who is learning virtualization and wanted to see newer suggestions. -
dsgm Member Posts: 228 ■■■□□□□□□□I listen to Packet Pushers - Network Break as a network guy they talk a lot about network, cisco etc since they are net engineers themselves

Talk Python To Me
The CloudCast
The Ship Show
Food Fight Show
The Geek Whisperers
Cloud Computing Weekly
And probably 2-3 others I listen to regularly, but can't remember them and too lazy to go to my car and get my iPod.
Then probably another 5 or so that I randomly listen to, i.e. Arrested DevOps (which I only don't listen because can't tell the topics of the episode from the title)Goals for 2018:
Certs: RHCSA, LFCS: Ubuntu, CNCF CKA, CNCF CKAD | AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Solutions Architect Pro, AWS Certified Security Specialist, GCP Professional Cloud Architect

Same here. Podcasts got me through my 120 mile roundtrip commute. Now my commute is 10 miles round trip and I've stopped listening to podcasts -

Jocko Podcast has been dominating my playlist since it came out. Its much more of a management/leadership podcast, but has changed how I conduct myself in several ways.
Jocko Podcast | Leadership and Ownership
I suggest watching/listening to this JRE episode before jumping into the Jocko podcast. It will give you some perspective, understand where this guy has learned his techniques, etc...I.E. adds credence to everything he says:

After that I check in with:
Joe Rogan Experience
Security Weekly
Packet Pushers "Fat Pipe" (all episode channel)
Tim Ferris
I drive about 30,000 miles a year. I would lose it if I had to listen to regular radio or music 100% of the time. -

Oh yeah! Forgot about HARDCORE HISTORY (you have to read that in the narrators voice). LOVE that podcast, amazing content. This podcast proves its quality and not quantity...just wish they could manage to put out more than two podcasts per year.
That reminds me of the Radio Lab podcasts, which are amazing in a similar right:

TacoRocket Member Posts: 497 ■■■■□□□□□□Going to bring this thread back up. What do you guys recommend for podcasts if I wanted to listen to the following topics?
Storage
Systems (including administration, deployment, etc.)
Virtualization
Linux
I see a bunch when I search but which are quality? These articles and posts are my own opinion and do not reflect the view of my employer.

tbgree00 Member Posts: 553 ■■■■□□□□□□vSpeaking Podcast and VMware Communities roundtable are both official podcasts by VMware employees. They do a great job of explaining the technology in a very deep but approachable way. I understand vSAN, vVols, and NSX much better after listening to these.
Communities' sound quality is pretty spotty but they're still worth it.I finally started that blog - www.thomgreene.com -

tbgree00 Member Posts: 553 ■■■■□□□□□□I've added Engineers and Coffee (aws focused), Cloudcast, AWS TechChat, and the Full Stack Journey podcast to my rotation on top of vSpeaking and VMware Communities.
Engineers and Coffee has an interesting reoccurring segment called "Will it Lambda?" where they come up with a wild idea and decide if it could be done serverless with AWS Lambda.
Non-tech related I listen to

ITSpectre Member Posts: 1,040 ■■■■□□□□□□Well thanks to everyone in this thread I have jumped on the bandwagon.... and I thought about doing my own podcast (short story) I used to do podcasting 3 years ago and people actually liked what I had to say. It was an inspirational podcast but since I love IT I may/may not do my own.... But the ones I have started to listen to are
- Talk python to me
- Packetpushers
- defensive security podcast
- Linux realityIn the darkest hour, there is always a way out - Eve ME3
