Hi, i have created a domain called "starwars.com" (yes...big fan) and my domain controller machine is called "Jedi". But when i go into DNS Manager i have 2 servers called "JEDI" and "Jedi.starwars.com". Why are 2 there when one should be enough to represent the machine? All the data on both of them also are the exact same with the name server being jedi.starwars.com, so is there a primary one here or is the jedi.starwars.com one? what is the other JEDI one there for then to?

Robbo777 Member Posts: 331 ■■■□□□□□□□I don't know if I'm getting it right but one server is for DNS and another for Active Directory? Thanks for the link, that's what I got from reading it but I could be mistaken

Am not sure why they're both showing up when they're identical. Could it be to do with me changing the name of the PC to Jedi, after I installed the DNS server to -

It's worth spending some time learning how DNS works, you'll be expected to know the basics for 410, and more detailed for 411. -
