Server Core DNS problem and Questions?

Hi, i have a problem/question about my server core machine in my domain environment. Basically i have 2 DC, one with a full GUI setup and another on a server core machine. I'm trying "Connect to a DNS Server" on my GUI machine to my server core one but i haven't had much luck even after enabling remote desktop and management through Sconfig, it comes up with a message of "access denied" every time on my GUI machine. DNS is fully setup and i can see all the host records etc... on the server core machine. Strange thing is as well is on my GUI machine i cant see the server core machine appearing on the network section and protocols like SSDP, FDPH and UPnP not visible anywhere on the get-services command.
I would also like to be able to run administrative tools from my GUI machine and be able to control the server core machine with them?
