how to connect home lab to internet?

didnt have any luck in the ccna forum. so gonna try here.

hello,

I have small cisco lab consisting of two cisco 2501 routers and one 2900XL switch.

I would now like to connect this lab to the internet and try to setup remote vpn and have internet access on the switch.

Currently my internet connection is
ISP (comcast cable) -> Motorola Cable modem -> D-Link 802.11g wireless router.

Is it possible to connect my cisco lab to the wireless router so that I still can get wireless service in my house? What kind of cables do i use and what are the configurations? Thanks.

    What exactly are you trying to achieve? do you want to be able to configure all the devices remotley or just be able to access the internet from the routers/switch?
    Looking for CCIE lab study partnerts, in the UK or Online.

    both, but internet access on the switch would be first. So my whole set up would be

    ISP ->Motorola Cable Modem -> DLink wireless router/switch w/4 ports -> one port going to Cisco switch and routers

    i can tell you that i haven't had much luck getting a cisco switch to connect to one of the home user router/w 4 ports and work properly without one of them erroring the port out.

    To enable you to configure all your devices youd need a terminal server (2509,2511 are the most cost effective)

    To be able to access them you need to enable port forwarding on you Dlink, I havent used Dlink, I have

    ISP > Cable mdm > Linksys WRT54GS > PIX501 > 5000 Cat > 2511

    Dont know about the Dlink but int linksys go to application and gaming, set one to trigger on Telnet (23) and forward it to the IP of whatever you are trying to connect to

    If your ISP doesnt give you a static IP consider something like www.no-ip.com to provide a DNS service for free.

    Keenon, before I put the PIX in I had to disable STP on the switch it was making the linksys go crazy all the time.

    if you want a secure option.

    run a linux box on your internal lan forward port 22 to it ....

    than telnet to your console server.

    nah ... i'm too lazy .... i broke down and went to the colo site
    nice afternoon off and a weel needed trip to starbucks

    i needed it for tac contract renewals ... apperantly none keeps track of serials .....

    is portfast on ???

    you can also configure the linksys to run rip v1 or rip v2 ....
    and it will propagate a default route
    um ... er ...ahem ...... by default ....
