Like someone mentioned if you're in the middle of your CCNP and have already passed one or more of the exams then by all means list it. It's quantifiable. So is working on a degree. They can request a transcript and see classes you've already passed.

Exactly....i don't get why this is so hard to understand.
and to the arguement about not finishing college, you can always put that you matriculated btwn years X & Y....can't do that for certifications if you've never passed any tests towards it.Link Me

However, people want to think listing a degree in progress is different because it's a college degree. I understand your reasoning, but completely disagree withthe conclusion you are drawing from it.

Studying for a cert doesn't mean anything, since you haven't met the key requirement to being certified.2018 Certification Goals: Maybe VMware Sales Cert

It seems like the only difference between you thinking putting an in progress degree on a resume and an in progress cert on your resume is personal bias. You know it benefits to list your in progress degree, so you list it. You have some personal bias/opinion towards listing an in progress cert, so you tell other people not to do it, even when other people have mentioned that it benefitted them to list an in progress cert on their resume.
It's almost as if you don't want to be passed over for a potential job by not listing your in progress degree, but at the same time you don't want other people to be considered for a job, that they might otherwise be passed over for, by listing an in progress cert.
It seems like we're going to disagree no matter what, so I'm going to go ahead and bow out of this discussion topoc. -
