Cabling types in 200-125

Does anyone else think it's silly that even in the new objectives we have to differentiate straight-through, cross-over, etc? I work with some pretty old gear at work and I havnt needed a cross-over cable in like FOREVER. I guess they are just being thorough for people working with REALLY old equipment, but you would think training books would at least mention that they are rarely needed. So far Chris Bryant is the only instructor I've heard mention that most gear autonegotiates tx/rx.
