Is there any way possible to have only one user account in Win98 without having a guest account (you know the one that loads when you hit the cancel button)? I have a friend who is having issues with her room mate messing up her PC. thanks for any help.

It's been a long time since I done that, so correct me if I'm wrong anyone...

You can use a policy (that, if I remember correctly, simply changes/adds a registry setting) that requires people to logon to the network (hence when you press Escape it will return to the logon prompt) but had no effect when you pulled out the network cable before you start the PC...

This issue was one of the primary reason to use Windows NT 4 workstation instead of Windows 9x in a corporate environment, since 9x doesn't provide any security (at least nothing that should be called 'secure' ;) )

I'm sure that if you search the MS site for "require user to logon in windows 98" or something like that, you will find what I mean...
