Cisco 29xx series switches "Port Fasting"

I have my practical exam for ccna 3 soon.. our teacher asked as to research port fasting as we are to set it up... we never have covered it in ccna 3. anyone know wat it is... i could google it.. but i rather get ppl to tell me who have used it b4.

The command:
SWITCH-A (config-if)#spanning-tree portfast
will cause that Port to bypass the "Listening and Learning" stages of Spanning-Tree Root Bridge Port election/convergence process and go directly from Blocking to Forwarding Frames saving about 30+ seconds of time.
It should only be used on edge network connected access ports where there is no chance of the Switching Loop to occur.
Google the term and/or do a search on the cisco website and you'll get piles of info. on it.
