best laptop to get around $800

hey guys, what is the best laptop to get around 800 bucks? My friend wants one that will allow him to use MS Word, Power Point and to allow him to play games with decent speed.

Which laptops are best for that cause he threw me off with the best ones that will play games with decent speed and be around $800 dollars. He is not looking for a monster computer but one that wont be obselete in a few years as well.

what can be upgraded in a Laptop besides memory? the Parts I mean, I dont know much about Laptops when it comes to upgrades.

Laptops genereally aren't upgradeable other then memory. I'm pretty sure you can upgrade a hard drive.

Basically the same things you can replace, if available for that laptop. I.e. if you buy a 1.5 ghz of series in which they also have a 1.6 you may be able to upgrade the CPU. But surely the hard disk, CD/DVD drive (ie to recorder, or faster recorder). Some have an optional drive bay. But since most is integrated, you can't upgrade mcuh compared to a desktop, plus it's a lot more expensive to buy parts.

I've bought nice Dell Latitude C8xx series laptops on eBay for a lot less than $800US. eBay is worth a shot if you apply a little due diligence in researching the seller and your purchase.

Forgot to add that, its an ATI Radeon XPRESS 200M 5955
It is shared video memory which you can adjust through the BIOS.
You can use anywhere from 64 MB on up.
