Second Interview for 1st Tier Support Role in a School District

I had a pretty good phone interview with a school district a few days ago for a Tier 1 Support Specialist role and they asked me to come for a second, in-person interview on Monday. The phone interview mostly consisted of them telling me about the job and me being asked about my work habits and soft skills. With that being said, what should I be ready for: more tech issues or more questions regarding soft skills?

Also, would a tie along with a nice shirt and pair of pants suffice? Or Am I screwing myself without a jacket?

For a school wear a suit.... Nice light grey or navy suit with a tie that pops.... You want to stand out but not be overly flashy.... example.

Wear a navy blue 2 button suit with a pink shirt and a pink and grey tie
Wear a light grey 2 button suit with a blue tie, blue socks, and a blue and green tie

Stay away from black suits because its too dark... and if you have brown shoes those are best with navy blue. I would rather be told "oh you didn't have to wear a suit" then to be told "you should have worn a suit jacket"

Also.... Make sure the socks match with the suit or just wear plain black socks....

If you wear cuff links or have a cuff link shirt that adds an extra pop to your ensemble. A lot of people rarely wear cuff link dress shirts. I prefer them over regular dress shirts.

Make sure you shine your shoes (always have shoe shine at home with a good brush)....
Also if you have a pocket square to go with the tie be sure to add that in too....

Dress your best and bring 3 copies of your resume to the interview!!!!!
And don't forget to ask questions at the end, bring a pen and legal pad (try to get a good one with the leather case around it)....to take notes, and eat before the interview. (I have been in interviews hungry and its not good to hear your stomach growl when your talking)

A suit can certainly make a nice impression, but color choice really depends a lot on your skin tone. I agree if you're a pasty white boy, don't wear a black suit. For lighter skin tones, pastels and lighter colors are much better for shirts and ties. Also, among light skinned people, pink/oranges work better for some people, and blues/greens better for others, just depending on your skin. If you have darker skin tone, bold colors are better, and a black suit can work just fine.

A good store can usually advise you on the best color scheme for your skin tone.

Another thing I will add... be on the lookout for those Jos A Banks commercials with the deals they have all the time... try to get in there when they have the buy 1 suit at reg price get 2 free.... then you can stock up on interview clothes.

How are you with panel interviews? Be prepared for that I guess. The two times I applied to school districts I was in panel interviews. They were stressful for me when I was younger and just getting into IT but now not a big deal. I was thrown off at one because one of the interviewers in the panel was a highschool kid that was a student assistant tech to the manager.
