All,

So, I am pushing off my CISSP until this Fall to take CEHv9 next month or August. My question is, is there any SIMS on the exam or is it all multiple choice questions? I have never taken an EC-Council exam before and was jsut wondering. I have the new Sybex CEHv9 book as of this week and am already 20% of the way completed. Any information on what I should study would be great. Thank you!!!

No sims when I took it in Feb. all multiple choice. I would also study the nmap cookbook, well known port numbers, computer laws in the U.S., various exploit names, etc. I am sure you can search the forum and it will give you info on everything you need to study.

All MCQ the last time I took it. You can also try https://www.eccouncil.org/Training/ceh-assessment

Since you plan to self-study for CEH, you need to go through the application process as per https://cert.eccouncil.org/application-process-eligibility.html#ceh (click "Option 2")

Do you still have to do the application if the Boot Camp is held by the DoD next month for me?

As long as it's official and you get a test code you are exempt from the experience requirements. Do a search on here, there are literally a dozen "pass" threads with lots of info that isn't worth rehashing again.

Has anyone else noticed the practice item with the answer option having the word "implantation" instead of "implementation"? I thought CEHv9 was suppose to have corrected all of those problems.

Nah. I thought some were trick questions, but it was really just awful grammar.
