Hi

I am having a problem turning off the windows noises on the clients in my school, when logged in as a pupil the menu makes clicking noises, i have turned off all sound in control panel / sounds, but to no avail. I have searched the gpo listings but also to no avail, i have searched for a regestry setting but that failed also.

Any help would be great

Disable the sound card in the BIOS/Hardware Manager?

or disable the Windows Audio Service using GPO ....

Sometimes when you disable the sound files etc Windows starts using the internal speaker for "clicks" and "beeps" thus disabling sound / sound card etc may not help.

    Open device manager
View and click "Show hidden devices"
    Expand Non-Plug and Play Drivers
    Ddouble-click Beep.
In Beep properties window click the Driver tab.
Under the driver tab temporarily disable by clicking the Stop button.

Either that or record a wav file of nothing (silence) and use that for your sound events?
