70-697 - home lab - do I need to connect my domain to Azure AD ?

Hi,
I am mid way through studying for 70-697 which I hope to take beginning of August.
My Hyper-V (on Windows 10 Pro) home lab consists of :
1x Windows Server 2012 R2 DC
2x Windows 10 Enterprise client
1x Windows 7 client (to test upgrades/USMT etc)
Do I have to connect my domain AD to Azure AD to get the knowledge for the exam or can I just sign up for the Azure trial and mess around in there ? I've done some Intune stuff already so will sign up for another trial of that and mess around in there.
How much do I need to know about SCCM as this is a very big subject and also pretty difficult to set up.
