Question about MCSA 7

Hi guys,
Today I passed my 70-680 with a nice score. However, MCSA 7 is being retired. Does that mean that it's just a waste getting the 70-685 and a way better move to go for MCSA Win 10? Most companies still use Win7... What do you think?

The 70-680 and 70-685 exams are obviously still available, just now they are called Specialist exams and don't lead to the MCSA. As most businesses haven't embraced Windows 10 yet, I would focus on the 685 and wait a bit before deciding to pursue the 70-697 and 70-698 exams. If/when the government switches over to Windows 10 as the primary desktop OS, I would then consider studying for and taking the Windows 10 exams as I am fairly certain that businesses will follow the government's lead. Naturally, it really depends on your goals and the market in your area as to what path you take.

OctalDump Member Posts: 1,722MCSA 7 is retired, but they still do the MCITP: Enterprise Desktop Support Technician if you pass 680 and 685. If you pass 686, then you can get the MCITP Enterprise Desktop Administrator. From either of these MCITP, you can then upgrade to MCSA 8 with one exam, and then to MCSA 10 with one more exam. The MCSA 8 upgrade exam is scheduled to retire at the end of the year.
You can also upgrade the MCITP EDA to MCSA Server 2012 with one exam.
MCITP Windows 7 (either) is still a good thing to get. Windows 7 is still quite popular in the enterprise. And you will also get two Specialist certifications and one MCTS. The only thing it lacks is the name recognition of MCSA.2017 Goals - Something Cisco, Something Linux, Agile PM
