I typically just talk about what I did. What activities I performed, what tools/technologies used, etc. Of course it's good to include measurables in that also like did X which increased profits by Y or efficiencies or something. I might also look at the job description that of my past positions if they are available to help jog my memory--but you know how the description says one thing but the daily activities are completely different.

You want a tool that will give you a description of what you do at your current position??? I hope I'm just misunderstanding this question. It is early on Monday after all. icon_cry.gif

or something like this 15-1122.00 - Information Security Analysts

HR and recruiters (some) use tools that helps with the process. i do a lot that wasnt in my job description.

Because you do a lot that wasn't in your official job description, on your resume just describe what you did -- including both the tasks that were included on your description and the things that weren't.

Why would you ever just not explain what you do on your resume yourself?? I'm just confused on the whole concept of using those in the first place. Unless your looking to lie on your resume or looking to fill it with meaningless information. Random descriptions from site/tools like those sound extremely generic and just look horrible imo.

What you are posting is for people to build job reqs, not for people to update their resume. If I saw a resume that read a job req I'd think someone was lazy and did the copy/paste. I want to read what you actually did, not some HRified version of job duties....
