how would I know which switch model will be tested?

clarson Member Posts: 903 ■■■■□□□□□□like networker said, you aren't getting tested on cisco hardware, but on how the ios works. So, if your hardware and it's ios supports the features you need to know, that is good enough for the exam. So, there are plenty of hardware/ios combinations that will do the job.
that being said, the course work and exam were written using 2960 switches running version 15 of the ios.
I'm currently using 2x 2950T (can't run version 15 of the ios) switches to study for the ccna. and, I have 7x 2960 switches here that i'm not using.
