Is the EUI64 address a global unicast or a link local address?

    EUI-64 is for setting the interface (host) portion of the 128 bit IPv6 address. The scope (global or link local, or private) is defined in the first 64 bits.

    So it can be used for global or link local unicast addresses. Importantly, interfaces will have usually multiple addresses. So you can have unicast link-local and global addresses on the same interface.
