I suffer more angst and anxiety with exams moreso than I ever do with work on a day to day basis. I would say its pretty normal.

the week to the exam I would be having the same feeling no interest in work or rather off from work to get it over with the exam and get back to normal. As days leading to the exam would be so tensed.

I understand how you feel. The closer I get to an exam, the more anxious I get and the less I think about anything else. After you pass you will think of how silly you were to worry until the next exam rolls around and it begins again!
