Hosts

in CCNA & CCENT
I'm studying for the CCENT 100-105 exam.
My question is on hosts.
255.255.255.252 /30 mask = 252
There are 64 subnets and 4 hosts, with 2 usable hosts.
When I take the exam and get a question of the number of hosts per subnet will it ask for total hosts in a given subnet or just the usable hosts?

Hosts usually refers to usable. The other two are network and broadcast addresses. An expert is a man who has made all the mistakes which can be made. -

I believe the keyword will be "useable" hosts vs "total" hosts. I think 99% of the time they will want useable hosts for subnet questions, like you need to create a subnet with X amount of "useable" hosts. -

useable and total hosts would be the same though. Can't have a "usable" host PC on the network or bcast IP of a given subnet"The size of your dreams must always exceed your current capacity to achieve them. If your dreams do not scare you, they are not big enough.”
