Went to a nerd garage sale and came out with a car full of nostalgia

Maybe it's just rewatching Stranger Things on NetFlix for the 3rd time that has me full of nerd gaming nostalgia but when I saw the following ad on Craigslist this weekend, I had to go: HUGE GEEK SALE - Electronics, Video Games, Computers & More!!!

Apparently the guy who's selling all this was working on making a computer museum and everything is working for the most part. Life happened and now he needs to sell everything and move. I ended up getting the following:
- TRS-80 102 still in the original box + acoustic coupler + portable disk drive
- Texas Instruments TI-99 with games
- 3 different Ataris with games + box full of Atari accessories
- Commodore 128 (already have a 64 in the house) + new in box dot matrix printer for it
- Old IBM for old DOS games :P
- Old Apple computer

Here's some various pics I snagged of the guy's stuff:

Holy Commodore!

Wow...Stranger Things will do this you, you got me beat, I've only watched the whole series 2x so far. I didn't even know they had a Commodore 128!

<3 Stranger Things and there's some serious 80's nostalgia in my car right now. I know I could emulate most of the games on these systems but there's something fun about sitting down and playing with my first computer or playing on an old console.

Funny enough, you know that there's probably more compute power on any one of our phones than in that entire car.

WOW, those pictures took me way way back. Seeing all of those Sierra games made my inner child very happy. And that Carmen San Diego box is super cool too. Your office is like a museum.

What did all the loot cost you?

An unboxing series on YouTube would be most appreciated.

It cost me $300 total which was worth it. It seemed like the guy was more interested in it going to a loving home than anything else.

I don't follow the vintage market but that sounds like a steal. Seeing the original KQ boxes is making me have flashbacks, nice haul!

Can't remember when was the last time I saw so many 1541 drives together. I'm glad his mom kicked him out of the basement and you were able to score great stuff.

$300 is nothing for the treasure you got there. The phone... the phone next to the Texas Instruments computer!
    But yeah... now what?

Wow!!! These photos bring me back. Have fun. It sounds like the guy treasured his computers like family.

Nice haul! In Austin, one of the local Goodwills has a computer museum of sorts.

I wonder what was up with the bottle of Kingsford lighter fluid in the first pic. Maybe he was going to light up the whole collection if nobody bought anything...

...or it didn't find its way to a good home.

I still have my Timex Sinclair 1000 that is used as a security system for my house.

....and 8 hours later, you're still watching :P

When you're done watching and finish crying into your pillow because you have to wait for season 2, you should check out Mr Robot.

HA! I wish, I had to wait for my wife, I'm still waiting to start EPISODE 2! But yes, I've been watching Mr Robot from Ep 1, good stuff too. After The 100 I'll have to sync up with your Netflix feed and see what other stuff I've been missing.

I know the subconscious decision that drove Kate to buy all this stuff. She wanted to replicate the arcade as in Mr. Robot ;)

P.S: if you do not mind send me a picture of the popcorn machine.
