Is the phone app just tests or is it XXXXXX is bla bla bla bla, port 1 = XXX....etc

There are flashcards/tests for each domain of whatever test you're taking. The flashcards are XXX = bla bla bla, but the tests are multiple choice and explain why the answer was correct and why the others were wrong. The test questions are along the lines of "Which XXX would you use in XXXX scenario? 1. Bla 2. Blabla 3. Blablabla or 4. Blablablabla" Then you choose your answer (3. blablabla in this case) and it will tell you if you were correct or not, then explain why 1,2, and 4 (bla, blabla, and blablablabla) were incorrect.
