Need info about vSphere 6 Foundations Exam
shafraz1986
Hi,
I found out people going for vcp6-dca skipping vca6-dcv, its said vca is not enough to be recognized as a vmware professional.
When going through vcp6 requirements i came across vSphere 6 Foundations Exam.
Now im confused as where this exam stands with vca and vcp, and what will be the accreditation and benefits of passing it.
Currently I work as a System Administrator, qualified with CCNP, CCNA and MCTS, I was looking for to gain knowledge to look for data center job opportunities.
Please advise....thanks in advance

It's just a prereq to take the VCP. It's not a proctored exam either. If you already have a VCP you can waive it.
And yes, the VCA is typically a waste of time. Only reason I got it is because I worked at VMware and it was free.

On its own, vSphere Foundations counts for nothing.
But it is a required element of all 4 of the current VCPs, which require you to pass 2 exams - Foundations plus an exam specific to that VCP.
Here's the VCP6-DCV as an example:
