CISSP / Career focus

This questions is for anyone who has gone through (or is going through) the CISSP exam. I was wondering if going through the study material changed your mind on the area of security you wanted to be in. For example, you went from wanting to be a security engineer to being focused on GRC?

From completing the SSCP and studying for the CISSP, I found that my focus in what I was doing was intensified now that I am understand more of what I am doing and why. The information I learned also gave me more confidence in what I am working on to be able to communicate the importance of security more effectively in my organization.

TL;DR - Worth it to go through the program and study.
