Hey guys/gals,
I've received a response back from a job that I applied to a few months back and need some help with my response. This would be my first role focusing on (network) security.
Director's Email:
Thank you for submitting your resume.
This position is highly technical and involves dedicating your time to equally support, and learn from, our Senior Network Security Analysts and Network Security Architects. Incident investigation/response, malware analysis, and firewall/IPS management are core daily duties.
Are you still interested? If so, please explain how your experience and training relate to this job.
My Potential Response:
Thank you for taking time to review my resume. I am very excited about this position and I feel that it all aligns very well with my previous work experience, education, and training. I have experience with incident investigation and response as well as malware analysis.
At several different organizations, I have worked on desktop malware remediation, email phishing response in addition to system hardening. I have completed several trainings on IPS management and firewalls.
I don't believe you will find a candidate more motivated to invest their time into learning from network security professionals. I believe this opportunity will allow me to not only utilize my current skillset but it will also expose me to new challenges and greater responsibility while being mentored by a strong and capable team.
What do you guys think?
