Help with Configuring switch ports/device communication

in CCNA & CCENT
Say I have a router and three switches.
The switches currently have all ports enabled, they need to communicate with each other and have connectivity to the router as well.
How do I do this? Which ports should be connected and enabled and what have you?
I've been messing with packet tracer trying to figure this out.
Thanks

For basic communication, there's not much you have to do; just power up the switches, connect them together with cross-over cables, and let the switches do there thing.
If you want to be able to manage the switches from a PC over the LAN, you'll need to configure them with an IP Address, assigned to VLAN 1.
Johan has written some very good guides about the subject URL]http://www.techexams.net/forums/ccna-ccent/823-techlabs-ccna.html[/URL I've learned much from reading these guides.
If you get stuck, I'll help the best I can.No longer an active member
