Remedy, have you had the chance to see MongoDB in action? A friend of my (in sales) showed me a solution that utilized Mongo back end and he literally grabbed a weeks set of data from the whole western region and was able to slice and dice insanes amount of data like an Excel pivot table. In a classic RDBMS (you are talking a week long query potentially).

Think every sub station on the west coast using this product (which is A LOT) and being able to crunch meter reads that come in every mill sec. Unreal capabilities.

I've always been confused by highly vague job titles, like Solutions Architect or Systems Engineer. In my head, it could mean almost anything. Can't quite wrap my mind around what these guys do, other than make a lot of money.

I have not. But, I've heard great things about it.

Very interesting about the complexities of MongoDB vs other platforms.
