Major Cyber Attacks limits access to multiple Domains

There was one heck of a major attack going on today, have been buried at work but just came across that quite a few sites went down...wow. Looks like Dyn DNS

We had a few users complain about it at work. And for once they were right by saying "My Internet is not working"

Yeah, we've had some issues too.
Curious on the exact reason. Coincidentally enough, once Wikileaks tweeted that the attackers proved their point and asked them to stop, it seems to have subsided.

I read somewhere it was a big botnet from compromised DVR and CCTV camera systems. I blocked internet access to all my outdoor surveillance IP cameras back when I installed them.
