Seeking advice about potential position

Long story short a company has reached out to me for a BI Developer role.
Currently I develop BI solutions on the MS Stack so all is well. I do have one concern though, this position will require system knowledge such as installing server operating systems and working with Linux system for data integration.
SSIS, SSAS etc I have down no worries there. What I am concerned about is the lack of Windows server knowledge. Don't get me wrong I get on them all the time to configure jobs and services, but never really get into the operating system beyond that. Usually our senior developers take the liberty of doing this.
Any advice on working a role that requires infrastructure skills. It close to a 50 k bump so I am taking this dead serious.
Thanks

Totally agreed.
The role of a DBA is different from a SysAdmin.
Employers can ask for the Moon.... but that doesn't mean it's realistic.
(or maybe they are Paying around $130k... but are expecting the output of a TWO (lesser) full-time bodies?)
i know the $$$ bump is sexy...
but i wouldn't be trying to learn how to be a "server guy" just because a job wants it.
Conversely,
If i were a "Server guy"... i wouldn't want to learn how to be a DBA just because a job wants it.
Do what YOU want to do; not what Others want...
ps,
i see they also want Linux skills??
lol

It almost has that two lesser jobs for one feel now that you mention it. I'll find out soon enough tomorrow is the interview with the HR Manager. I'll try to glean as much as possible.
I'm am not worrying about Linux at this point. Your reaction was the same as mine. -

So I'm down with this thinking. It doesn't hurt to expand your skill set a little bit because sometimes you have to wear many hats.“I do not seek answers, but rather to understand the question.” -
DatabaseHead Member Posts: 2,754 ■■■■■■■■■■It went well enough for another interview. We shall see, I was about as honest as you can be.
As most of you mentioned only questions asked were in the BI space, SSAS, SSIS and SSRS. Mentioned I was very comfortable with SSAS and SSIS however only have built a handle of reports in SSRS, we have Business Objects and Power Bi so management wants the dev in those platforms
This killed me last time, they wanted Tableau and since we are 100% MS Stack we use Power Bi.........
Oh well let's see what happens.
