Exam question tactics

Working through the Odom PCPT Chapter Review questions make me realise how many different options and ways they can test your knowledge exist. I've found that if I focus purely on the Question text and then refer to the answers later, I'm prone to sometimes picking an answer too early or just spending too much time working out possible problems that the question doesn't ask.Does anyone have their own tips for how to analyze a question?e.g.
  1. Read question text
  2. Read all possible answers
  3. Work through the question checking for the validity of the answers?
