    Even if your commute is an hour, This is a step up for you. The title of Network Engineer with a possible AAS and some certs will make you very credible after a year.

    Vertical career aspiration by a way of lateral transition is quite normal in IT. If you understand football, this would be considered a flea flicker.

    You are young, if you are healthy I think the extra pay and added responsibilities could be very helpful for your career. Like others have mentioned the drive will be terrible.

    Could you potentially move closer to your place of employment if things go well at the position?
