How do you stay motivated/focused?

Hello all,
I just want to get an idea of how everyone on here stays on track with their studies. I am struggling a little bit with studying for my ICND2, I keep getting off track, i will watch videos, read books, do some labbing for about a week and then fall off and get distracted by other things. Also after work when i crack open a video or whatever i tend to doze off (not due to the dryness of the material, it's just a long day of staring at the computer screen).
I have been studying on and off for the past couple months for ICNDv3, have seen the ICND2 v2 material for about a year now, I feel pretty comfortable with the material but I am bombing some Boson test questions i have. At this point should i just push through and study for 2 weeks straight and take it? if i fail it i feel it will still be useful to have an idea of where I am at and what i need to work on.
Thank you all I appreciate it!

9bits Member Posts: 138 ■■□□□□□□□□Motivation for studying comes and goes in waves for me. Sometimes I just need to step back for a while and come back into it a few weeks later. But also I think having a vision/focus in mind is the most important motivator. You really need to ask yourself why you're studying something and make yourself give yourself clear, detailed answers. Studying for hopes of a better job or a promotion is all well and good, but it's also quite a vague goal. The more specific your goal, the more precise you can make your plan of action, and at least for me, having a precise plan is much more motivating.
