Responsibilities:
- Select, develop, test, deploy, maintain and enhance information security solutions
- Create threat models to evaluate the company’s security posture
- Practice ethical hacking techniques to discover and prove vulnerabilities in our systems
- Triage and prioritize incoming threat information from a variety of sources
- Lead efforts in intrusion detection, incident response and management, and forensics
- Manage contracts, relationships, and daily deliverables with external security vendors
- Create and enforce security policies to keep the company secure and compliant
- Work to ensure the company is compliant with all applicable security-related regulations
- Lead the selection, design, and implementation of Data Loss Prevention (DLP) controls
- Produce relevant Information Security metrics for reporting to the CIO
- Conduct research to identify new attack vectors against the company’s products and services
- Drive improvements in our cloud security strategy and operations
- Manage individual projects priorities, deadlines and deliverables
- Use your business acumen to build strong relationships throughout the business
- Design and build proactive methods to enhance our security posture
- Develop technical solutions to help mitigate security vulnerabilities
- Recommend, implement, and integrate new security tools and technologies
- Collaborate with technical leaders on innovative security solutions
- Advocate security and secure practices
Successful applicants must have:
- BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience
- 4+ years of experience in hands-on security operations or engineering
- Multiple certifications in IT systems engineering and information security disciplines
- Foundation in and in-depth technical knowledge of security engineering, computer and network security, authentication, security protocols and applied cryptography.
- Working knowledge of common protocols: HTTP, TCP/IP, TLS, DNS, BGP, 802.1x, LDAP
- Experience setting up security hardware and software systems: firewalls, IPS/IDSs, SIEM
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment that involves project management, engineering, and occasional triage
- Ability to work independently at times and identify work that needs to be done without waiting for direction
- A willingness to mentor and guide fellow team members kindly and constructively
- A desire to share knowledge and teach others
It would really be outstanding if you have:
- MS in Computer Science or related technical field
- Proficiency in a scripting language such as Python, Ruby or Bash
- Ability to build custom integrations between IT and security tools to help improve workflows
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Have working knowledge of AWS or other cloud computing platforms
