Learning Linux
Entmta
I've often half seriously considered learning Linux. I understand that involves heavy use of the command line, and learning BASH. But is there any actual coding/programming involved? Or just scripting and the commands you'd have to learn?

Since Linux is an OS, there is no programming needed. Scripting, certainly. There are several books that I have found useful: Linux Bible, 9th Edition and A Practical Guide to Linux Commands, Editors, and Shelling Programming, 3rd Edition, being two of them.
