Help needed with joining to domain

Hi, I have a remote client that has a domain controller and called to say he cannot join a new workstation to the domain. I dialed in and found that the server has 4 workstations in the AD and the new pc is missing. I tried to join but I received a DNS error. I created a new A-Host record with a static ip, changed the workstation to use the static ip, and still couldn't join to the domain. The machine can ping the server, but the server cannot ping the workstation, if I use the computers name, then the server can talk to the computer. Apparently they have a Dell SonicWALL that is hosting the dhcp.
